This program was created to help prepare the skin for labor. There is only so much that you can do during the labor to prevent tearing. Will this 100% guarantee no tearing? No, of course not. But prep work is important in reducing deep tearing.

Final Month Birth Prep Kit

Specific support for the soon-to-be delivering mother during the last 5 weeks of pregnancy pays in wonderful dividends during labor and delivery. These products have been formulated to increase nutrition, soften the cervix and skin, and cleanse and prepare the body for birthing.

Contents: Greenie for Mommy, Labor Prep, Cervix Softener, Comfrey Plus Salve, Red Raspberry Leaf Tea, Lavender Herbal Bath/Peri Bottle Tea.

Greenie for Mommy: Greens of all kinds are an essential part of the diet during pregnancy. The greens in Greenie for Mommy are what we call super greens in that they are a tonic for the entire body, including providing nutrients to the skin, supporting it in stretching better, cleansing the blood and increasing oxygen and nutrition to the growing fetus and mom. Wonderful addition to smoothies and juices of all kinds.

Labor Prep: The herbs in this formula synergistically strengthen, tone, and make more pliable the entire pelvic region.

Cervix Softener: Essential for first-time moms or first attempts at vaginal birth. It is very important to finish the whole bottle. If you run out then start immediately on another bottle. It may help with:

  • facilitating labor

  • lessening labor time

  • preventing tearing

  • minimizing postpartum bleeding

  • preventing postpartum convulsions

  • helping women deliver sooner who normally deliver considerably past their due date.

Comfrey Plus Salve: Applied on the perineum, labia majora, and labia minora every night for the last month of pregnancy. Yes, it’s safe. You’re not applying it into the vagina, just on the outer skin. Recommended to use a menstrual liner or pad, so the salve won’t stain your clothing. This is also a great salve to apply during the pushing phase of labor. It can ease the “ring of fire” often felt as the baby’s head is crowning. It additionally provides immediate support to the skin as it’s stretching to accommodate the baby’s head. Comfrey Salve is also very useful to apply postpartum.

Red Raspberry Leaf Tea: Superb tonic for the female organs and mucous membranes throughout the body. Additionally, great for cleansing and supporting the urinary tract. Important to cleanse the urinary tract prior to going into labor, in order to prevent irritation as the baby’s head is pushing up against the urethra.

Lavender Herbal Bath/Peri Bottle Tea: Lavender Herbal Bath should be used during the labor in the tub. The Lavender Bath encourages reduction in swelling, as well as relaxation. It can be used as a peri bath after birth to aid in recovery of the tissue. Recommended to use this during labor in the tub.  If you do a water birth make sure you drain and refill the tub with fresh water before the baby is born. You can also use this postpartum for a bath. Sunstone Formulas green soap is another good thing to use during the postpartum period. You can put some in a peri bottle and  use it when you go to the bathroom in place of toilet paper. You can also brew Sunstone Formulas Red Raspberry Leaf Tea and put that in the peri bottle after it has cooled. That can then be used to squirt on the tissue when in the bathroom.

Additional items that are recommended but are not included in the kit:

Collagen powder: ½ scoop daily. Helps with elasticity of the skin.

Vitamin C: 500- 1,000 mg helps with elasticity of the skin.
