About Desiri
Desiri Wightman, LDEM, RD loves empowering women to trust their intuition, especially in their life-bearing years. A proponent of client-centered care, she loves to listen and guide mothers to their best choices for nurturing their children before, during, and after pregnancy. She is dedicated to physiologic pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care for its power to transform women into their divine selves.

As a Registered Dietitian, Desi carries a passion for wholesome, nourishing foods and herbs that build strong bodies, improve health outcomes, and nurture generations. She believes in and teaches small, simple, sustainable changes to promote longevity and vitality. Beyond midwifery, you’ll find Desi either sowing, weeding, harvesting, or preserving her vegetable, herb, and flower gardens OR planting seeds of truth and wisdom through study, writing, and homeschooling. She is blessed to mother seven children through all their varied life-stages and is honored to walk beside her husband of nearly three decades. Desi carries a deep, God-gifted love for people and partners with God in all her decisions and work.

I love being there to support, love, and strengthen women in learning these lessons. Classical midwifery is my way of preparing for a new millennium where women rise to their divine potential and change the world’s trauma into peace through their confident, nurturing mothering generation upon generation. I feel honored to assist in the peaceful rebirth of the earth one mother at a time.

At Motherheart Midwifery, my goal is to ensure you stay in the driver's seat with your care. You are the steward over your body and baby and health . I love to assess, guide, and counsel for the best outcomes, but the choice is always yours when it comes to your health. I seek clients who value and take responsibility for their lifestyle choices.

A woman's pathway to physiologic birth is transforming. She learns how powerful she is, she learns to trust her body and her intuition, she sacrifices for her child and that increases the devotion she feels toward that baby, creating a strong attachment and fostering security in that child throughout life. She grows in confidence and courage. These traits trickle down to her children and others under her influence.
